General question when filing for my Husband

My husband came into this country with his visa but it expired and im a citizen and we are in the process of filing. He loss his I-94 now is it necessary that i get a replacement I-94 because i dont want to spend 320.00 if i dont need to.

Does he have a passport stamp in his passport to prove his entry to the US?

Im not sure whether this will be accepted as a sure fire substitute, but it will prove he entered the country legally.

I personally would get another I-94, but Im sure someone will come along and confirm whether or not you need to get another.
