I'm with a company that has filed for a Green card for me. I was on a couple of TN visas and have used up my H1B visas. I'm now applying for one of the 1 year H1B extensions for people who have a Green card in process. My priority date is in May of last year.
The job I have only had a 3 year work experience requirement though, so I'm in the EB2 category. In other words, this is still going to take forever before I'm portable to another employer...or at least I think it will.
Does anyone have any idea as to when I'm portable? At that stage, can I start my own company or am I still required to go to another company? What would happen if this job had requirements for someone in an EB2 category? Would that speed things up?
Am I better off leaving for a different company that will sponsor me for an EB2 based job?
