GCfor my parents - need adv.

I am going through the naturalization process, once i get my citizenship, I am planning to file for GC, for my parents.
I have few questions:

* can I file the petitions from the US consulatein madras or shud I file fm US? Does that really matter. I heard a lot of rumors that if we file fm India , the process takes place faster than filing fm US. is that true? if yes, how quick?

* can I file from any other country other than India or US, as my parents are working in gulf at the moment.

* which are the forms I shud be filing? wht all documents shud I attach. Shud I file separately for my father and mother or can i do it together?

Filing process always starts here in the US. Once their immigrant petition is approved you can elect to have them receive their visas in their home country.
 
first and foremost you can't do anything until you get that certificate of naturalization.

Also you will need copies of the following documents: b/c showing you and both of them as your parents, their passports, their marriage certificate, and a notarized translation of everything.

It will be one petition and you list the other parent on page two of the I-130.

Now the absolute fastest way to do this is to have them here in the US and so you can submit all the paperwork all at once.

but if you want to do this through the consulate then you just submit the i-130 to your local INS office and they will send a notice to the local consulate where your parents are currently living. They go by the address you give. You can give any address you want. You want to go with the place they will be for the next two years. You have to apply in the united states and not go outside the united states for any significant length of time.

wht abt the documents from my side? will there be any interview for my parents? if yes, then wud it be like the visitors visa thing, can they reject it by any case

thanks a lot...it was kinda short thou, I was awaitg for something in detail.

the documents from your side would be your financial information. tax forms and proof of employment.

yes you can file the gc while they are here. In fact it is preferable because it is way faster. You are really not suppose to do that because you came for the purposes of immigrating and that's against the rules of the visiting visa but from what i understand people do that all the time. As long as they can get here and prove they just came to visit.

so in the meantime you have some time before you become citizen. Gather all necessary documentation from your parents. That way it's all ready to go so when they get here all they have to do is sign the forms and drop it in the mailbox.

how fast is the process time wise, if the parents are already in US. If they are in US, besides I-130 what other forms are needed ? thanks.
