My case no. is not present in the Chennai website for Jan interview. Now, i also see a thread where some cases which were sent by NVC have been misplaced by Chennai consulate and hence no jan interview. I mailed my P-3 on Nov 20th. If p-3 is mailed on Nov 20th is there a posssiblity of getting Jan interview or is it usually in Feb ? Do you know? I am just concerned that my case from NVC shd not get lost like many other\'s.
I sent an email to chennai consulate asking if they have my case from NVC and got a reply which said that i have to check around the second week of Jan. I saw your posting in a couple of threads and assuming you are expecting Feb interview too.

And are you planning on getting a PCC from any of the indian consulates here?

Sujatha, You will get Feb. Interview. Jan. Cut off date in 11/20.

Cases that are misplaced are the ones forwarded on 10/15; 10/22 from NVC to Chennai. That is nothing to do with your cases. In order to get Jan. your case should be received and entered in the system by Nov. 20th. Chennai reply indicates that you can know your Interview date in the second wk. of Jan. Feb. Interview dates will be released by Jan. 10th.

I dont know what to say!! Chennai received my P3(FEDEX)
on 11/17 and i got an email from Chennai with just "Received -pkt3."
on 11/28. SInce i missed the 11/20 deadline i was expecting a Feb interview. So guess hopefully yours will also be in Feb.
But when i called last week they asked me call after 10 days.
Maybe this is just a standard reply, i am just praying that
they did\'nt mess up anything with mine.

I did apply for the PCC yesterday from the NY consulate.
I think its better to do it, to be on the safe side, atleast the
process can start before all this mess clears.

What is the procedure for getting PCC from a consulate here? Can i apply in any Indian consulate. The city i live in does not have one. It would be of great help if you give any pointers on that.Since my interview date is probably going to be in Feb, i thought i can just apply for PCC just in case.

If you fall under the Ny consulate you can use this form

Send photocopies of yours/dependents passports. They will intimate you
aftyer they have clearance from India. Then you can got CGNY, show
your original passport and get PCC.
 
Another quick qst:

I found out that i come under the Washington D.c Consulate\'s jurisdiction. They do have a form that we can send for getting the PCC. But it does not say anything about whether we will be notified about PCC or will we get the PCC itself by mail. It is definitely a hassle if they require you to go to the consulate for collecting this. are u sure that it is the procedure? Also i am a dependent on my husband\'s CP application. So do we send 2 PCC forms one for each of us?

Sujatha, You need to send two diffrent forms. Procedure varies from consulate to consulate.

For Chicago, we need to send the copy of PP at the time of application. We need to send/take the original at the time of issuance.
 
Pkt 3 was received on 11/21

Interview date is on 23rd Jan. Didn\'t expect it so fast...check with the Indian embassy in Chicago for PCC...they said it would take at least 40 days before the can get a response from the Chennai passport office ! So, I am hoping they don\'t require us to get a PCC.

I have the police clearance certificate which I took from Chicago consulate. My wife doesn\'t have one and she is in India now.
Though today\'s e-mail from chennai consulate says that they haven\'t received my P3 yet, I am hopeful that I would get the Feb 02 interview.

Now the question is, how do I get PCC for my wife? She is staying at my parents\' town, which is different from the place of issue of passport which is Hyderabad.

Could you throw some light here to get PCC for my wife?

Also, does it sound abnormal to you that consulate hasn\'t yet got my P3? It must have reached consulate on dec 11th.

Namelater: Easy to get PCC at Hyd

I live in Hyd at present and I believe its easy to get a PCC from HYD if your passport was issued from HYD. Infact a same day service is also available. A quick trip to Hyd may be worth for your wife. Check whether somebody else can submit her application and get the passport back by mail..

Namelater, Not revd. P-3 by consulate by now is not abnormal

They should have received it. They need to enter it in the system to say received. You should get Feb. Interview.
Like Anand said, it\'s best to apply @ PP office in Hyd. or apply at SP office with the writer.

Could you give me some more details please? If it is only one day or two days thing, my wife could go to Hyderabad and get it done..

Please, please give some more details how to apply for it and how long does it take things like.

click on rules and FAQs and then follow Misc Services. You have 3 pages of info in that page. It clearly says that PCC is a same day service if your file has a original clear police report! cheers

What else can we expect from Desi govt officers.
I mailed my PCC app on 12/17 and FEDEX shows delivered
on 12/18. And this lady says she still does\'nt have it in her lap,
call at 4.00PM, i might get it then.
