I just got married and my husband is a GC holder and is going to get citizen ship in 2009. I am currently having H1 status and the period of 6 years will get over in May 2008. Please guide me what best thing to do now. SHould i wait for my husband to get the citizenship then apply for GC or should i apply from my current company for GC. THanks in advance. Please guide me

right now best option is extend H1.
for GC - u can apply but still have to maintain Yr H1 until your hubby gets citizenship. best advise will be of an immig lawyer, as far as I understand - marrying a GC holder is not of any advantage to one's legal status in USA, one have to maintain his/her legal status in case of marrying a non-citizen. Once You marry a citizen of USA then next day U can be off the hook- this is my understanding.
