GC without picture?

I have heard this from quite a few people in various forums. The 485 is approved and the notice of action 797 says that the card will be mailed in 120 days.

In my case my 485 got approved in 4 months altogether and all I have done is gone for FP once! How are they going to send out GC without taking my picture? I hadn't even applied for EAD or AP or anything. And other thing is how come 485 applications have started getting approved in such a less time (4 months is like a dream)?
 
Yes, I did send photos with the application but is that it? For my wife they had called her for Biometrics where they took her picture. They never called me for that.

Also, what about passport stamping? What do I do if I have to make overseas travel plans before I get my GC?
