GC while in India

Hi,

Query from one of my friends - can someone file for the GC while in India.My friend has got an approved H1B from a US company and was hoping if he can start the GC process this month itself (for 7th year H1B extension preparation).He is supposed to travel next month.Pl let me know.

as per my limited understanding of this issues, you need to have at least few paystubs before you can justify that you're in US, actually working and making money. For that you've to be physically present in the USA.
