A few weeks ago I found out that my grandfather who had lived and died in US in from 1926 was actually a lawful US citizen. Till now my family had not have any knowledge about his status. Is it possible to apply for a Green card or a citizenship trough a dead relative?

Generally dead people are unable to fill out forms, so unless you have a literate zombie relative in the US, I think you're out of luck.

Can Patricia Arquette help ?

Generally dead people are unable to fill out forms .

She works for NBC's "MEDIUM"...the ghost talker. CBS also has a "ghost whisperer" series.:p

kkboy, the dead relative would have had to have filed an I-130 before he died. From what the OP said, I doubt this happened.
