GC timeline Newark - NBC

hello,

Need some information. I'm about to apply for my GC through my marrainge to US citizen. I live in NJ so i guess i have to file to Newark Ofice whcih in turn sends the paper to NBC??? and NBC is currently procesing Nov 2001??? Is this true or someone will help me feel better :confused: Please share your thoughts..

for I-485, you should be looking at newark;s processing time. You I-130 will be approved alongwith I-485, so NBC's processing time shouldnt depress you that much.

Just curious:
Any reason why they would send it to NBC.. as in Newark they are currently processing I-485 from Oct'03 ??

To standarize the processing. In near future, all family based applications & Naturalization will be handled by the NBC only. & it will be filed directly to NBC, instead of Local office.

The advantage of transfer is that we get the receipt number, which we can check online. Local offices doesn't issue trackable receipt number.
 
Newark starting using NBC from Feb 18th 2004. NY and other states have been using it from 2003. I saw this info on the poster in Newark office when I was there..
