GC Stamping in alternate INS location

Hello,

I recently received my I-485 approval notice and am required to go for the stamping on my passport in San Antonio, TX. I am currently in San Jose, CA working on a long term assignment. Is it possible to go to the local INS office in San Jose or San Francisco to get this done?

Also, is the EAD card a requirement to take along with you for this? My EAD card seems to have been lost in mail. All help is appreciated.
 
Try in SFO INS office

My 485 approval says to visit New Jersey INS office.
I went to SFO INS office and got stamped on the Passport. I received pastic card recently.
Carry proof of residence ( driving license + some utility bills ).
If they ask you to hand over any EAD cards, you may tell them the truth. I think there is nothing wrong in it. Gurus any comments on this?
 
EAD

Tell the officer that you have not received the EAD.
I was in the same boat and told the officer that I had not received it. Then the officer just told me to not use it when it arrives. No hard questions.
