GC resident since Jan,06. TIME FOR CITIZEN?

MY question to those who know a lot about filing for citizenship after 5 years of permanent resident.


GC Resident Since date of GC is 01/17/2006.

thats what the GC shows.

so therefore,

Is it time to file for citizenship now or few more months or one year left?


Pls educate us and tell me when is exact time to file and the procedures.

I don't want to wait any more days if my filing date has come cos i am eager to be US citizen and enjoy those citizenship rights!

You can apply 3 months before the 5th anniversary on your GC. So, you can send your application on:

October 17, 2010.
 
superb job but still 10 months to go .

thanks for info. i have filed GC applications and more so i should be able to file the citizenship application too by reading the instructions?

should i prepare for the learning test 3 from oct 2010 or only after i receive application receipt?

Hi Jonny,

Some expert people in the forum said that it is better to apply 90 days before instead of 3 months. So, to be safe apply on or after: October 19, 2010.

The N-400 form is very easy to fill, if you did complete the I-485 by yourself you will be ok handling the N-400 form.

After you got the interview letter you will have enough time to study for the test. Make sure, when you go to do your FP, to ask for the booklet and CD (it is free).
