GC process defies logic

I am sure 99 % of GC applicants feel that the way GC is processed defies logic and science. There is no FIFO ( First in first out ) principle. By which I mean the file which comes first must be dealt with first - need not be approval but evaluated.

I hear that USCIS has cleared some 140/485 cases on Pilot program - guess which cases - Any sensible institute will take up cases which are struggling to find its way out and not cases filed few months back. But that is the way USCIS works.

It is not that we are against some lucky ones but what crime have those guys committed by filing 2 - 3 years back or even more with no light at the end of the tunnel.

My labor in RIR took 2 years - Is there a meaning in RIR - USCIS must evaluate its policies first. While they release their backlog program to senators and congreeman, I see my 140 cases moving from 180 days to 400 days. Is this what backlog means - Are they redefining the meaning of english words ?

I am pissed off with this. Who is going to tell the USCIS that they should use some common sense approach so that the process looks fair and transparent.

To top it all, you can not call them to find the status.

God bless USCIS and all those who have been victims of this long ordeal called GC.

My RIR labor took 3 years...

There is nothing fair and transparent about this process. BAck in 2001 , when I filed for RIR , I was told that it takes a few months for labor to get done. Guess what, the great Bush administration decided to give ammnesty to those illegal aliens who could "prove" that they had a employer who would sponsor them! And guess again , every Tom, Juan and Rajinder decided to apply! I have nothing against giving ammnesty to honest law abiding human beings , they have a right to be in this country as the ones who are making the rules. The fact remains NOT AT MY EXPENSE. I got my labour finally cleared in 2 years and applied for the Pilot program as my wife are from different countries and needed to travel.
Watched all my colleagues who applied for consular process get the I -140 and the interview, while I applied for 2 EAD's and parole.
Suddenly one night while checking my status on the BCIS site, the applications for my wife and myself were approved.
I did not feel any elation at this, I spent countless hours on aila.org , immigrationfocus.com and some times here checking my status hoping for approval. By the time I got my approval, Iam emotionally drained by all of this.
My family back home is very happy, I dont want to piss on their parade so I expressed my hapiness too.
The whole process is demeaning , there is no justification in any of it.
It is a politically , economically driven agenda controlled by the politicians and the powerful business who can get "their" people the magical visas whilst people like me wait for 3 years of their life in tension as jobs are dropping like flies.
A process which should not take more than 2-3 months has spiralled into 4 - 6 yrs for many.
Our quality of lives has deteriorated. The ones who are in no mans land are at the mercy of the employer, there are plenty of horror stories of white collar exploitation in every city and town.
Its time to take action and get a major news media to cover this.
