GC process as a prospective employee

I'm currently on my 4th year of H1B and the company has already filed for Labor with current consulting company for the greencard. The client is willing to take me on H1B and they are planning to do an H1 transfer. If this is the case,

1. What will happen to my GC process with my current consulting company if I join the Client?

2. What stage of the GC I should move to GC sponsored employer(I.e. my current consulting company)?

3. Can I continue my GC with my old employer and work for the client company? Will this jeopardize my GC process anyways. Please explain.

Please respond ASAP. Thanks in advance.

1. If your current company is willing to continue your Green Card process, and you get your labor certification and subsequent I-140 approved, you can file a new Labor Certification with the new company and subsequent I-140 petition, doing what is called a "recapture" of your previous priority date.
2. Your decision. In my experience drafting the cases, it hasn't seemed to matter unless (see #3.)
3. No, it won't have an effect unless your company has any financial problems that would show your company wouldn't be able to viably sponsor you for the GC petition.
