GC petition for parents

Dear All,

I am a GC holder. I am aware that I need to wait to get my citizenship before I can petition my parents. However I have a question, since my parents are here as tourist can I file for their petition and let them wait until they got approved? Is there a different type of visa that will be issued to them? What if their tourist visa will expire while waiting for the approval?

As a GC holder, you are NOT eligible to file GC for your parents. period. If they continue to stay here beyond the I-94 date, they would be accuring illegal presence and it would pose a problem later as they cannot travel or seek employment .
