Hi,

My employer hired me more than a year ago after interviewing people for more than 6 months. I didn\'t file for GC right away. since then there have been a lot of lay offs in this industry in my city. what if i start GC process now. we publish new ads and what if there are indeed able-willing citizens who are interested in that job?
what happens? Do I lose the job? Do they reject LCA but i keep job?
I am well qualified and my employer is happy but i wonder if this LCA filing will backfire?

Please advise...

Thanks.

Generally when an advertisement if published with your case in mind, your attorney carefully words the advertisement so that most candidates are ruled out. For example if you have a Masters, or any special work related experience can help in narrowing the field further. So you have to extremely careful in wording the advertisement
and your company has to work closely with the lawyer to eliminate those who apply. Talk with your lawyer in this matter.
