Friends,
My wife recieved her plastic card yesterday, and our GC journey has finally come to a successful end. I have been a member of this Forum for nearly 3 years, starting May 2002, first in the I-140 and then I-485 segments.
This has been, and continues to be, a very supportive and knowledgable community of individuals who are all going thru the slow GC process. My thanks to attorney Rajiv Khanna for maintaining this great site. It is a perfect example of how the Internet has made a huge difference in people's lives!
To everyone waiting, I know the process is slow and frustrating, and that USCIS and VSC are dysfunctional. However, my experience with assorted EADs, F-1, H-1, I-140, I-485 etc etc cases over the past 8 + years has been that, if your paperwork is all in order, then your case WILL get approved in the course of time. Patience is a great virtue in this game....
Our timeline:
I-140 (EB1-OR) RD: May 29, 2002
I-140 AD: Sep 13, 2003 ...... 15 + months, no RFE
I-485 RD: Dec 3, 2002 (semi-concurrent)
I-485 AD: Nov 2, 2004 (wife), Nov 8 2004 (self) .... 23 + months, no RFEs
PP stamping: Nov 24 2004 (San Jose, CA)
Plastic card recieved: Dec 31, 2004 (Self), Feb 28, 2005 (Wife)
Same company, same address throughout the process, and to date...
If we are still in the US of A 5 years from now, then we will apply for US citizenship, and I will start visiting that forum.
Till then, GOOD LUCK & GOD BLESS
