Received my new GC in the mail as an incorrect CR6 instead of the correct IR6 which was stamped in my passport. IR6 is without doubt correct - the interviewing officer advised that this would be the case since we were married more than 2 years on date of approval. To add to the complication, I have noticed that the approval date on my 1-year temporary GC passport stamp is also incorrect - shows approval year of 2007 when it should read 2005. A phone call has confirmed that USCIS has CR6 in their data base, so as Step 1, I have an Infopass appointment to try to get this, along with the passport stamp date, corrected. Step 2 will be to file the I-90 (supported by copies of marriage cert, the corrected passport stamp and I-797 interview notice) for a new and corrected IR6 GC.
Does this sound like a reasonable plan? Also, how long are people waiting to receive their corrected GC's? Any info would be appreciated - thanks to all.
