GC in two months - CSC NIW

:D Wanted to let people know. I got my 485 approval email today along with spouse and child. Cards have been ordered. This whole process took only 2 months! (preparation took a lot longer) No AOS interview even with self-petition. Here are my details for reference.

NIW self-petition (with offer of employment from current employer)

This forum has been really helpful. Wish I had found it earlier, may have tried application myself. Still its all worth it now.

Work in Optical Physics, current projects relate to aviation safety. Got 8 letters of reference - 4 from DODs, 2 from professors who are linked to current DoD projects and 2 from work colleagues (both world renowned in their fields) Wrote all letters myself with review from supporters. Also supplied a letter written to company a large private aviation company stating how important my research was to them - it did not mention my name.

Contributed significantly to attorneys submission letter - taking quotes from all supporters showing how i meet the criteria. Concentrated on past successes (world firsts...) contracts won etc and showed how they linked to current and future plans. Showed how my work came from my original ideas and that the current research projects were inseparable from me. Was able to show that my contributions exceeded by far that of minimally qualifiied US Citizen for the post - 3rd prong the most important, I feel.

Although I hired an attorney, because my H1-b was due to run out really soon and couldn't afford any form/legal mistakes, I gleaned a substantial amount of information from this forum. People had supplied links to pertinant articles and this made making the case less difficult. I appreciate everybody's contributions.

I don't know why my case was approved so soon, but I'm not complaining :D
Maybe CSC are beginning to get their act together. Good luck to evryone still waiting and hope you get approved soon.

Did they ask for your qualifications evaluated to find out whether it is valid in the USA?

I am working on EB1-EA - could you able to help me with sample letters pls?
 
MY RFE asked for an evaluation of my credentials and some info on my evaluator
My attorney had already supplied a copy of my awards and a credential evaluation from World Education Services (WES) in the original submission. He replied stating ,politely, that this had already been supplied but sent the same copies again, but also added some info from WES website.

Sorry can't help you with letters, I was EB-2 NIW and I believe the emphasis is different.

What is the significant that "it did not mention my name"?

Are you saying that your company didn't mention your name in the letter?
 
The large well known company had written a letter to my company expressing a great interest in the research my company (I) was undertaking. In the support letter from my immediate superior (a world renowned scientist in his field) he quoted this company's interest indicating that it was my research they were interested in. Thus I was able to prove 'national in scope', from a party who did not know me personally, only of my work. Thought this might be useful as evidence but not as a letter of support.

I'd read somewhere on this forum it is useful to try to get letters from people who don't know you personally, so this was my attempt. The good thing was that they backed up exactly the claims I had been making in my letters of support, without mentioning my name.
 
I've heard about 3-4 months for EB-1 at CSC.
It looks like it's quickening !

If I can get a letter from a Larger company written direct to support my work, would it be equally good as your or better.

I figure that if your name was in the letter it would be better, but it would need to be worded in such a way as to show that this company thinks your work is of national interest, national in scope etc - not just that they are impressed with your work.
 
Got message today may 17 '05 that my card was mailed. Can't believe how quick this has been :D

Sorry, should have said FP & EAD & AP details too. :rolleyes:

FP/Biometrics done 04/01/05.
Applied for EAD/AP got them - didn't need them - wouldn't have bothered if I'd known it would be so quick but since my H1b was running out I had to.
