I heard there is lot of questioning for GC holders also at Port of Entry. Is there any risk of deportation at Port of Entry while returning to US if a GC holder without a job for 6 months goes to India for one or two months vacation.
If you got an employment-based GC and very shortly after GC approval you didn't have a job, that might lead to some further questioning and problems depending on the reason for not having a job. Otherwise you'll be OK.
Green card holders are allowed to be unemployed; they just should avoid living on welfare to the extent that they become a "public charge" (note that unemployment checks are not considered "public charge" criteria).
