I am a G.C. holder. I have had my GC since April 2003.
I got it through my mother (who is a US citizen).
I am now a student, and in May I will be attending school in Sweden to study at a university.
I am also married to a Swede (who will be a student as well).
I do not want to lose my GC, because after school I would like to work and live in US with my husband. I would also like to apply for citizenship when I am eligible.
After speaking to several people, I get the idea that as long as I return to the U.S. every year (before a year passes) I will be okay.
In the mean time I will file taxes...maintain an address here in Miami, as well as credit cards (pay bills)
I shouldn't run into any problems when the time comes for me to apply for my citizenship, right?
