GC holder married to Canadian citizen

Hello

I am a permanent resident. Got my GC in mid 2007, and I will be able to apply for citizenship in mid 2012.

I just got married to a Canadaian citizen wife who is here in the US, living with me. She is here on B-2 Visa. This marriage is not registered in the US

What options do I have now to have her live with me, instead of going back to Canada after every 6 months of tourist visa? Would there be an issue if she comes back to the US. Any problem with the immigration officers at the border? Should we prefer air travel or car travel across the border?

If I apply for I-130 for her now, what are the issues (PD is 5 months old now)? Or should I wait till I become citizen?

Thanks

File the I-130 now and she could get a GC in less than a year, based on how fast things have been moving in the family 2A category.

However, for her to get a green card before you become a citizen, she must not be in the US illegally. And consular processing should be chosen on the I-130, because spouses who are married to non-USC don't get leniency for preconceived immigrant intent.

From now until she gets the green card, whenever she travels into the US she should not cross the border or go up to the immigration counter together with you, as that would increase the chances of them realizing out that she's married to you, which would make it more likely for her to be refused entry.

Thanks Jack(o)

She is on B-2 visa, so I am assuming she has only 6 months to stay here legally). Am i right?

What do u guys think is safe? Crossing border from Canada by bus, car or air? Which city? Vancouver, Toronto, etc?

For consular processing, she could fly to Canada on some day and appear in the US embassy, right? Or it would require spending months in Canada?

Is there an easy way to stay legal on F-1? Some weekend classes?

Thanks
