Hi,

I am a GC holder living in India for last 10 months on Reentry Permit.

Now, I am planning to go back in 2 months time.

Can my mother apply for visitor visa now when I am here in India?

Pl. help.

Thanks in Adv.

i dont see why that should be a problem. But for support you will have to show evidence of job/money in bank

I cannot show US payslip for last 3 months as I have not been doing job in US since I left the country. Other than that, I do have bank account with some fund in US. Should this be OK?

this will create problems.

Are you going back to USA on a job, it is not just about paystub. If you can satisfactorily explain your leave of absence and expectation of job to continue when you get back.
Can you independantly show that your mom can support herself with enough funds available.

Your mom being a recent widow, can she demonstrate strong ties to India, ensuring she will be back.

And as it appears that the visa dates are not available for next 4-5 months, your mom is unlikely to get a date before that. That may work out to your advantage in the sense that you will go back have a job, provide all the support and the supporting documents from there. Your mom living here for some time and managing might demonstratye that she has some ties.

Understand, it is not just about you getting here there this time to be with you, but she will have to come back as well, and then stay on her own, if that is the case

she cannot stay with you long term till you get citizenship and sponsor her GC. And your stay outside the country will delay your citizenship as that time will be subtracted from required 5 years after GC.

think and then plan
