GC holder after marriage is there a list of things to update in india and US

GC holder got married in india to a local who is still in india. What are the things that need to be updated in india and US:
1) passport? green card? is there a timelimit on updating this info?

2) i am have heard that people typically get a marriage registered here in US and then do the respective updates. is that the practice if the spouse is not in US?

3) since the spouse is in india: what do we need to differently if applying for citizenship
 
If i were you, I would worry more about getting your spouse into US (if that's your intention). Since as a GC holder, you have to apply for spouse GC's and it take a few years (4-5?), unless the spouse can get H1, L1 on their merits. Also getting your citizenships helps, but if you are applying now, it would take almost a year to get Citizenship and equivalent time for getting GC for spouse.
