GC Getting Married - Visa Type

Hi,

I am new to this forum and looking for some help regarding immigration issue. I am a Green Card holder since Aug 2000. I am planning to get married in October 2004 in India. I was engaged last year and my fiance cannot wait any longer.

How can I get my wife to USA after the marriage? What type of visa do I have to apply? Do I have to contact any immigration lawyers? Any information regarding this issue is greately appreciated?

Currently there is no way you can bring your wife to US unless she qualifies for an H1 or L1 visa on her own. There is a waiting period of over 6 years for spouses of GC holders to immigrate to US. There is a bill pending in congress that will make it easier for such spouses but don't count on it being passed any time soon.
