Hi, I am US Citizen. My spouse is on H1B. We hold driving license from different states. We dated for almost 1.5 year. We work and live in different cities. We visited each other before and after marriage.

We recently got married in US in my residing state. I have added my spouse's name to my rental lease, bank account etc in my residing state. Now, I am wondering what should be the address for my spouse in I-485 form. Can I just give my address in all I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131.. etc etc forms or do I need to give her residing state address?

Our intention is to live together in my residing state and it will be also our permanent address now and in future. I also prefer giving my residing address for communication, biometric, interview etc.

But it is not about what I prefer, I would like to do what is RIGHT.

Thanks in advance.

When will she physically move to your address? Are you in neighboring states? Does her H1B have 6+ months left before it expires?

She will physically move latest after she gets her EAD. No, not neighboring states. But as per I485 instructions, we will have to file in Chicago regardless of whether we use my address or her address. Her H1B has well more than 6 months left. More like 2 years.

She will physically move latest after she gets her EAD.

The EAD should arrive before the interview, so that implies she plans to physically move before the interview. In that case, have her start changing some of her bills and accounts to go to your address from now. Then by the interview date she'll be living with you and have a few months of her bills at your address. Hopefully she'll also have time to get her license changed to your address before the interview.
