Hi
I am planning to file for GC for my parents (currently in the US). As I understand, I will be sending the following 2 separate packages in the same envelope to the same address

i130 Package
1. Copy of Parent's Birth Certificate
2. Copy of Parent's Marriage Certificate
3. Fees for each parent
4. Copy of My Naturalization/Citizen Certificate
5. Copy of Parent's I-94 card – both sides
6. Copy of Parent's Visitor Visa + entire Passport
7. Color Copy of My U.S. Passport

i485 package
1. Copy of My Passport
2. Copy of my Birth Certificate
3. Copy of Parent Birth Certificate
4. Copy of Parent Marriage Certificate
5. Copy of Parent I-94 card – both sides
6. Copy of Parent Visitor Visa + entire Parent Passport
7. I 693
8. G 325a, I 864, Copy of i130
9. Fee for each parent
10. Copy of last 3 years W2’s
11. Employment letter

thanks

For I-130 items 2, 5, 6 are not needed. Item 7 is not needed if item 4 is included.

If you are filing together, copy of I-130 is not needed for I-485 item 8.

I-485 Item 6: Copy of entire passport is not required, only biographic information page, visa page and I-94 page.

I-485: Combine I-864 and items 10, 11 together.
I-485: item 7 should be in a sealed envelope.
Missing from this list are photographs. If you are also applying for EAD and Advance parole, include application + photos for those also. It is a good idea to get EAD and AP since EAD allows then to get SSN and work (if they wish to do so) and AP allows them to travel out of US in case of any emergency. Without AP, their travel will cancel I-485 application. Cost of EAD and AP are already included in fee for I-485.

Thanks nkm-oct23 - Much appreciated

I will be only filing for i131 (not EAD).

Question
Should I put both applications (1 each for both the parents) in the same envelope to ensure they get processed together

thanks

Why not EAD? You have already paid for it. EAD can also be used as government issued ID document until green card arrives. Easier to carry than a passport.

You can put separate application packages in one envelope.
