GC filed for father in India

Hi there,
I have filed for the I - 130 for my father on Apr 10, 2008. The checked were cashed immidiately. The case has been transfered to Vermont S.C. It has been 2 months now and the online status is still showing "case received and pending".

I have few questions..

1) The time line for VSC is showing July 30, 2007. How accurate is this time line..

2) I was trying to find the similar cases on this forum but all most all the cases have 130 and 485 both filed together for parents staying already in USA. My father had no luck in getting visitor's visa for last few trys. Can some one in the similar situation post their time lines? so that I can get an idea when I can bring my father with me..

3) Any other inputs that can help me understand what to expect...

Hi All,
Updating my case here.

-Vermont SC
-Filed for I-130 for my Father in India for CP - 04/10/08
-RFE received for Birth Cert. - 12/30/08

I will send the RFE within a week. My question is - Do I need to have to original birth certificate with me? or my father should keep it for the interview.

It has taken me an awfully long time for just 130. Is there too many steps after 130 is approved or is it simple enough?
