GC Denied, then RFE, now Interview

Hey guys,

This is what has been happening:

I called up IIO in March of this year, and was told my GC had been denied. This was at the Vermont Center.

Then, after I sent letters to the Center Director and Senators, it turned out that they would be sending me an RFE.

They sent me an RFE asking for the Medical Exam. I had been waiting for I-485 for over a year and therefore my results had \'expired\'.

On July 30th, INS Vermont received my RFE. On Nov. 2 the recording got updated to "your case has been transferred to San Jose" (this is ok since I had moved to california) "and they will schedule an interview which could take several months".

My questions are:
1. How long after the transfer does the interview take place?
2. Should I be worried that they have asked me in for an interview? My GC is being sponsored by a compnay that I have not worked for recently, but will join after the GC.

Thanks

contact senator/congressman again.

I am sorry to hear this. I think you should contact senator or congressman again and explain situation. It is these kind of unfair situations they would most likely to help.

Goodluck.

No Title

Can you post details, why your GC was rejected at the first place. Secondly, can you provide the addresses of the persons to whom you contacted, and the letter format.I will appreciate very much.
Thanks

Case details

Sam,

I wish I knew the answer to your question.

After the I-485 took a long time, during which I am not proud to say that I did not follow up with INS, I finally called the INS department in Vermont. The IIO could tell me that my case had been rejected, but could not tell me the reason.

I spoke with about 3 lawyers about why that may have happened but everyone said that unless I had lied in my application, submitted false papers or screwed up on the dates, there really was no reason for the denial.

I then sent of the letters to my local senators and also to the INS director at Vermont. I called up a month from then, and was told that there was an RFE on my case and it had not been denied.

Regarding the names, 2 things:
1. They especially asked me to not mention it.
2. Your senators would depend on your residence address (mine is in California), so it probably would not help you in any case.
