Hi All,

I'm currently working in MD and my company has head office in AZ and I'm in process to start my green card. I heard that Arizona would be much faster but my employer/Lawyer says that I need to move to AZ if I want to do that. Sametime I also heard that federal & 140/485 etc takes more time in California Zone as compare to east coast.
I would appreciate if anyone can suggest me best option here .
I have no problem in moving AZ from MD.

thanks
BS

dont do anything based on current processing time. all the processing times will be fluctuating a lot whether its a labor stage or i140/i1485.

its better to start your labor from your corporate headquarters (arizona). you dont have to move to arizona to start your labor from there. you can work any where. BUT remember that you HAVE to work in the place where the labor was filed AFTER your green card approved (there are some limitations based on the location specification in that gc labor or depending on ac21 portability usage). propably your employer/lawyer would have said that you need to move arizona after greencard is approved (not sure of what they said exactly)

RE:GC Arizona vs Maryland

Hi,

Thanks for reply.
I'm thinking to file labor from Arizona now.
But what I see is more work related to my techincal expertise is in Maryland office and I want to do that.
My Company is also ready to rtelocate me in Arizona in case I need to move there.
So I have have suggested to lawyer is file labor from AZ and once it comes then I'll move to there and then we'll go for concurrent processing(140 & 485 together). And if I like to live there then no problem otherwise we can use the portability provisions of AC-21 for transfer and again come back to MD.
So my question is what's the best way to proceed ?
Under AC21, 6 months needs to be passed before I move to other office or company . So I want to know how about 140 case. In California Service
140 itself takes more than a year.
Can anyone tell me what's the shortest period that I must work in Arizona office ??

thanks a lot .
BS
