Hi folks,
Yesterday our Green Cards has been approved (Finally!!) after interview at Santa Ana Local office.

Interview was cool. And officer was nice.

I thank this forum and people for helping and keeping "hope" up through out the journey towards gc.

Thank you,

Congrats Chandra,
Could u pls let us know wat was asked at the interview. And are u under EB3 category.
Thanks

Hope74,
I am in EB2 category.
Interview was really cool.
He asked about my current employment. (I have changes the job after 2 yrs from 485 was applied. )

Why you have to change the job?
Why you moved from TX to CA?
Have you ever got arrested?
Have you collected any benifits like unemployment or food stams etc from govt?
Have you ever deported?
When did you get married?
Child's name and data of birth certificate
When did you first came to USA?

And asked to give copies of
Marrage certificate.
DOB of child
He has old PP photo (side face). He asked if I have recent photo with front view.
Asked for recent pay-stubs, 2 yrs Tax Return copies.

Said - every thing looks fine. And asked for our passports and just stamped the approval. While stamping he said, my visa number was assigned back in May'04 that's why he is able to stamp today.

Returned our passports and said Congratulations and also mentioned that "if you want to become citizen, you can apply after 5 yrs from today."

Total time we spent was about 45 mins.

Thank you,

question

Chandra,... congrats for the GC.
i have intw in stanta anna next week p'lly you can help as i switched jobs like you.
what reason did you give for change for change of employer and what was fees amount? do they accept check?

Thanks

EndofTunnel,
There was no fees. But it may be good idea to carry your check book just in case.

Yes - it was the most difficult answer to the questions "Why you changed the job?" & "Why you relocated to CA?"

I told - "the client compay was closed/bankrupted. I was forced to look for another job. And I found one in CA which matched my skill set. This happened 2 yrs after ny 485 was applied"

I think officer might have heared the company that I worked for was closed.
Fortunately he did not dig this further and moved on to the next question.

Thanks,

next steps

Hi Guys,

Good to know you got the GC.

I am still waitingfor the LC (it is now in the DBEC).

What is the sequence after gettingthe LC? fingerprints? medical? I140-1485? EAD ? Parole? interview? photos? GC?

I am working with H1B since nov2000 my wife is wth me since June2005 she is H4.

Could you tell what is the sequence of steps? and what documents shouls I have handy and translated into english?

thx
-Eric

Thanks a lot for the information Chandra.
Just one more question, did he ask u anything about your original employer, like the pay stubs from him or anything.
Thanks once again.

eromero,
I think you need to have date of birth certificates. You keep all the addresses you lived during the past 5 years. Your and your spouse's parents date of birth and place of birth.

I think your attorney should be able to give proper chick list. Or who ever applied 485 recently, may be able to give proper and more updated information.

Thank you,
