I am currently in India for a vacation while I got the emails that my GC got approved back in US...can someone let me know what would be the procedure at the port of entry now that my status has changed from H1 to GC. I have the original 485 receipt and approved advance parole documents with me. I am the dependant and primary GC approved already 4 months back.

1. Would I need to fill a new I94
2. DO I stand in the immigrant visa line
3. What procedures can i expect at port of entry.
4. Also I am scheduled to go back around 15th dec...do I need to rush back..

Please advice as to the same. Anyone with similiar experience.

Thanks

In India..how to get back ??

I think you would use the AP to reenter.
You can probably come thru the permanent resident line
but not sure :)
You may want to keep print out of the approval email with you as well.
No need to rush back sooner.

This was my experience at ORD when I entered in end August'07 (2 weeks after my GC approval which happened when I was away in India):
I was told to use Visitor's line.
When I presented my AP to the officer at POE and asked whether there is any change in procedure due to the approval of my GC during my absence, I was told "No. There is no change in procedure" and the officer stamped my AP, Passport and I-94 with a valid to date 'One year from date of entry' and status AOS.
I was rather surprised by this, since I had expected the officer at POE would give me a temporary I-551 stamping on the passport.
So much for the efficiency of these agencies!

Congrats GC_wait123 !
I agree with others that you will have to use the AP to get back in.
Anyways, always best to check with your lawyer also.
