GC approved, never worked for sponsering company....

Hi,
My GC was sponsored by a company for which i never worked. They sponsored for future employment with a personal commitment from me that i\'ll join the company once my GC is approved. My GC got approved on May 30 and the company is not in a position to hire me due to bad market. They are not going to revoke/cancel/complain about my GC to INS. Meanwhile, i\'ve been working for another company, paying taxes each year etc. Is it okay if i do not join the sponsoring company? What will be the impact of that on my GC?
