GC approved 2 months ago. How soon should PP be stamped

Hi there,
Could you tell me how soon after 485 approval a person should go for stamping? my 485 is approved on March 17th.

Once you received your approval letter from BCIS, that means ur now Lawful Permanent resident alien. You can go for stamping anytime even after couple of months but sooner the better.
 
Why wait? Stamp your passport ASAP for the temporary evidence of GC. You can not show the approval letter to your employer for work, plus you can not use the letter to re-enter the US. It is not the proof of your status. In addition, only after the stamping, BCIS will order you a physical GC. Learn a lesson from I-485, one month late in RD will result in several months or longer frustrating waiting time.
 
I talked about this with my lawyer last month as i anticipated getting mine while i am in India. She said upto 6 months i should be ok but more than that they might consider it as abandoned.

Why the Wait..!
Wait is supposed to be before the approval :)

Well stamping triggers card-ordering and arrival of the physical card. So if things are in place, go for it..
