GC Approval without job???

It has been over 6 months since I filed the 485. Have EAD.
If I get laid off and cannot find a job, and get GC approval without any employment verification RFE's; is it considered a valid approval?

I understand it may be a problem at the time of applying for Citizenship, but even if it is or isn't, is the Green Card itself VALID?

The reason I ask is, in an economy like this, its easy to get laid off and then not be able to find another "similar" job as AC21 requires.

Most of the us who got laid-off recently are in the same situation as you. if we get our 485 approved while we are looking for a job then it's beyond our control. so don't worry, try to find a job soon and then AC21. In my case, i found a temp (short term consulting) job and hoping to find a permanent before my 485 is approved.

to answer your question, one of the attorney told me that it could be considered as fraud if we try to get a job while not working. he suggested me to find a permanent job soon.
