GC and parents

Why do you suppose the U.S. doesn't provide for GC holders to sponsor parents etc...?

Other countries, such as Canada, allow PR to sponsor family.
Well, am I correct? GC holders can't sponsor parents -- right?

Is there any legislation in the works to change this?

Any helpful insights?

thanks

Anyone else dare to respond (other than "JoeF the Great"?)

I dared to ask because the question is important to me.

Maybe they don't consider Joef's problems because they're not important to them........

You're right, it makes perfect sense.

new attorney - old attorney question

The attorney who worked on my GC was pretty expensive, moreover, he dragged his feet. I didn't get good service.

Should I request my GC file from him since I am not interested in retaining this guy in the future? Will I need all of this GC stuff ever again???

Doesn anybody know a good, reasonably priced (IF THAT'S EVEN POSSIBLE) attorney in So. Cal.?

thanks,
