Hi all! I am currently working for a university on H-1 (cap-exempt). There is a possibility that I will accept a position with a private company. I know that I wont be able to start work with them till Oct. 2005. Meanwhile, would it be possible for the company to start GC process for me or does that also have to wait till Oct. 2005? Since GC is for future employment, I am assuming that I can get the GC process rolling as soon as I accept the new position. Please enlighten me on this issue. Thanks!

YES.
The company can file you LC, and or Subsitute/I140/I485 (altogether). No problem.
