Hello, I am currently in the US on a J2 visa (husband is J1) my employer is sponsoring me through PERM for permanent residencing, after (if) PERM is approved we are filing I140 with premium processing, our J visas expire on 7th Feb 07. My I140 will be EB3 skilled worker I am a UK citizen so come under "rest of the world" there is currently a 4 year wait for a visa - my question is that there must be a way to remain in the US with an approved I140? we do not necessarily need to work but do not want to have to move out of the US for a few years when we have already settled here (both working, social security, driving licence, bank account etc!) my husband cannot get H1B due to none available until October 2007. Also is it possibel that if we were allowed to extend our stay in the US that I may also be allowed to extend my current employment authorisation?? Can anyone help????
