Gap between I-140 and I-485 filing would hold EAD

Guys,
If there is a gap between I-140 and I-485 filing it would hold EAD because INS would become suspicious why the I-140 has not been cleared since long time and not approve EAD.
This is really ridiculous bcoz those who have filed I-140/I-485/I-765 in last week of Dec'2004 have got their EAD approved.mine was semiconcurrent and it's causing delay.

I don't think this is true.

USCIS used to put a hold on EAD only if there is a pending RFE on I-140/I-485. Not sure whether they follow this still.

I have'nt had any RFE's on my I-140 or I-485 as yet except some LUD changes.
But infact I had LUD on I-765 on 03/02/2005 but no approval.So I am thinking they might put it on hold now.
 
Your case might be in EB3. Starting Jan 2005, they were going to stop
processing 485 cases filed in eb3 category due to retrogression.
So, your EAD will be on hold untill your date becomes.
Just my thought.

I don't think this is correct. Since he has filed his I-485 before 1st Jan 2005, he is eligible for EAD/AP.
