Hi buddies,

Approved today.

I am a silent visitor. I have got many valuable info from you guys. Thank you very much.

See as follows for detail

LIN-02-052-xxxxx

RD: 11/28/01
ND: 12/03/01
FP: 06/??/02
RFE: 04/11/02 (Employment Letter)
RFE Received by INS: 04/23/02
AP: 05/07/02

Laidoff Oct. 01. Started a new job in Mar 02 using AC21 and moved outside INS. If you have the same experience as mine. just hang in there and next turn will be yours.

I would also like to thank Mr. Rajiv Khanna and Rupnet for their generous contribution.

Sigh, Finally!!!

Congratulations. Glad that your time in purgatory has come to an end.

Please share whatever information you can with respect to the questions below-

Even though your sponsoring employer laid you off in Oct.01 they were still willing to continue with the filing of the I-485 in Nov.01?

When you started a job using AC-21 portability, I guess it was perhaps quite clear from INS's record at the time that they are unlikely to adjudicate your I-485 within the 180 day period?

What did you mean by "moved outside INS"?

Excuse me if I seem overly curious. It is a very interesting case.

Sankrityayan, sorry for confusion I caused.

I was got let go in Oct 02 and started a new job in Mar 03. So no question about my job change applying AC-21.

Now I work and live in the place where it is not in Nebraska center.

Hope my privious posting doesn't mislead you.

Sorry again.

Congrats!

Did you ever write (or call) NSC with an address change request, since you were also changing service centers? If so, did you include the AC21 letter/s at that time? Could you tell me what letters and evidence you sent BCIS to establish AC21?

Thanks.

oop, congratulations!

I have a similar question about address change notice. Did you send address change info to the INS in your Nebraska or local center? did you send any other info on invoking AC21? Did you have to mention that on the letter? Was it a regular type of job? Did they ask you about the 5 month's gap? If you have some format of the emp letter that will be great.
thanx

orca & gheewalabhai888,

I sent a letter(AR-11) to notify INS of change of address according to the regulation.

I did send letter to NSC to notify the change as well. Address change info can be found at NSC home page of BCIS web site.
A copy of form AR-11 along with following documents were included:

(1) Offer Letter
(2) Employment Letter. Because the offer letter is not detailed enough to state my job duty, I asked my employer to wirte this letter stating my job title, salary and detailed job description. But DIDN'T mention AC21 thing.
(3) Latest pay stubs

I don't know if it would help speed up processing my case or avoid REF issuing. Under current situation, who knows what would happen tomorrow. So, I got the letter from my employer just in case.

I didn't send any letter to local INS office. I tried to call NSC once to double check my address change, but didn't get through. I don't know if the approval notice will be delivered to my old address or new. But not a big deal.

After RFE was issued, my lawer prepared some documents related to AC-21. But I don't know details.

The new job is very similar to my old one.

Hope my answers give you a little help.
