Gabriel, Jim and other experts - Today is 179th day. Pls Help

I applied for H4-H1 transfer. Got an RFE, company didn\'t reply to the RFE. Automated message is telling that INS sent a decision on July 28th 2001. Company is not telling me what the decision is. The attorney I spoke to today is telling that if the denial is for not maintaining the status, then the denial might have started the count towards 180 days. My I-94 and H4 visa are valid till jan 2004.

1) AM I OUT OF STATUS?
2) what the decision could be? I am sure the company hasn\'t answered the RFE.

As long as the I-94 has not expired

If the I-94 indicating H-4 status has expired you are out of status, if not you are in valid H-4 status.
