In the G-325A where it is asked about employment for the past 5 years if I was on OPT for 8 months but did not work during that period what should I put?

You simply don't put anything and leave that area (8 months) blank. Having an EAD doesn't mean anything. In other words you had authorization to work but you didn't work.

Another example. If they ask you about your travel dates in the last one year. It's just like you had a green card but you didn't travel. What would you do in that situation? You will leave that area blank since you didn't travel.
