My 1-485 has a receipt date of Dec 2 2002 and went for fingerprinting Jan 15 2003. I got my EAD card in March 2003. During this entire period until yesterday my I-485 online message never changed - no acknowledgement that they had sent me a fingerprinting request or that results of my fingerprints had been received back. I was beginning to despair my file was lost somewhere in the bottom of a pile.
I sent in my renewal for EAD in Jan 2004. It was approved yesterday saying they have mailed my card. At the same time my I-485 case status online message has been changed to "On January 30, 2003, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received..."
So I am happy that they have no "found" my file again. I am surprised they had my fingerprint results in 2 weeks, I thought it took longer. Of course all of this could mean nothing since they can transfer my case or ask me to come for second fingerprinting, etc. There are a lot of ways they can indefinitely delay approval but I will take one small victory at a time
