Funds for Landing

Hi Guys,

Can anyone let me know, can I take US Dollars worth 10000 CDN while landing? OR do I have to take them in Canadian Dollars?

For two people it is $12,672 CDN as of now. So, would two separate cashiers checks be fine. Is USD or CDN?

Also, I want to live in Windsor, ON and work in Detroit with H1. Will that work? How easy? How hard? What are the hassles? Thanks.
 
US dollars will work.

I dont see why staying in Windsor & working in detroit will not work out. There is also a commuter card that you can get so you get a separate lane when you cross the border everyday. However one caveat is that you need to have valid H1 to work in US. I assume you will.
