Hello,

MY J1 visa expires soon so:

1- can i remain in the U.S despite that until my case is decided?

2- I am a fulbright, so does telling my sponsor about my pedning case pose any risk to the processing of my application or the wait time?

I had to start a new threead cuz the first one was unclear obvioulsy cuz noone responded.

Thanks

I apologize sadsoul for not giving you credit for your response. But I think I didn't make my questions clear in the first post so your answer didn't perfectly address my question. That's why I reworded it :).. Thanks anyways ;-)

1)Once your visa expires, you will be out of status and need to leave the country regardless of your case. If its approved, then everything is fine but if its referred to the immigration court then you will processing your case as any other illegal immigrants here in the US.

2)No risk. Its very personal so you don't have to tell anyone what you are doing.
