Frustration

I'm getting quite frustrated with this snail paced approval speed. It keeps getting slower as we monitor it. From 9 months to 10 to 11 to 12 now and even longer for some to get the 485 approved. Man, why is life such a b....

Dear Friend,

I experienced the same feeling of frustration. It made me feel how weak a human being is in front of an inevitable and how horrible life is when it is not under your control.

Undoubfully, we all miss some good opportunities here or there during this open-end waiting. There is no question to classify that this journey is a nightmare even though you finally make it.

To greenerdreams: the delay in approving I-485's ...

..should really not come to us as a big surprise considering the fact that a lot of EB2/EB3 became current in the months of July/Aug/Sept of last year.

Re: To greenerdreams: the delay in approving I-485's ...

what you said is partially true.

In July/2001, EB3 suddenly became current and you know there were flood of cases.

In August/2001, many I140 stoppage victims had a chance (VSC processed I140 really fast after stoppage).

So July/August of 2001 is huge. Thus fillers on or after September 2001 have to suffer some.

However, I guess most October, 2001 and later filers did not suffer in I140 stoppage, right?? you should be happy right?

The worst lucky guys are September, maybe early october, 2001 filers, they suffered in every step. Of course, some fellow cases in July/August, 2001 are still waiting. I am so sympathic about this.

good luck.

Absolutely agree with ric2...

I had my paper work submitted to my company some time in 2nd week of august.....maybe earlier. Because of 485 getting current everyone started applying and my documents were submitted for me to have a RD of 090/07 ........

And then Sept 11.......Can't recall but b4 that INS audit or something............ jeez.................

Lord have mercy on sept filers........

Quite obviously, no one tells us when to expect an approval and how how long the Green Card process takes. We apply and hope for a quick processing. I've seen cases on this portal and in personal life where it has taken way too long for one to obtain the card. We start expecting things based on others experiences and that's where we get dissappointed I guess. It's these expectations that make us anxious and create anxiety. These expectations are self created and maybe we should stop expecting and therby avoid getting dissapointed. It is tough not to expect and not plan life around the GC, but therein lies the trick.

Frustrating experience

It is true that the mystrerious and enigmatic way the INS moves leads to extreme frustration for lot of applicants including your truly. I guess this forum kind of gives vent to the pent up anger and frustration.
I think more than basing the expectations on others' experience what annoys me most with the INS is its inconsistancy. For no rhyme or reason someone may get I140 in 2 weeks and someone (yours truly) in 10 months! Someone get 485 approval in 6 montsh and some one (ditto) waits for longer than 13!
