I went down to the SSA today for my daughters Social Security card. Her I-730 application was approved last month. So we wait in line for 1 hour then comes our turn gave the agent the passport along with the approval notice and the I-94.
All of a sudden she says that she hasn't seen this kind of a I-94 as it is not white in color. Tried explaining her that those I-94 are issued when you enter the country and this I-94 was issued when the asylee petition was approved. Then she said that where is her EAD I told her Asylees don't need an EAD as per law and she is only 10 years old, then she came up that we don't accept this approval notice we don't know what this is, then she said her alien # is not getting verified with the INS we have to do an investigation.
Any ideas what is the problem am I doing something wrong. They took copies of my daughters passport aong with the I-94 and my DL copies and told me if you don't get anythng within 8 weeks come back and apply again.
