from J1 research to clinical

In December 2005 I applied to change my visa from J1 research to clinical. In March 2006, ECFMG approved my application and sent it to DOS. It has been around 50 days I haven't heard anything from DOS. Meanwhile, I have been under enormous pressure by my program director because my residency will start in July 2006. Program Director wants to know if I will get my visa and WHEN I will get my visa changed to J1 clinical.

Does anybody know:
how long it takes DOS to approve my J1 status change?
any chance DOS rejects it although ECFMG approved my case?
Can I do anything to speed up the process?

Please heeeeeeeeeeeeeelp me guys!
 
Hi,

I am also in the same situation. Did you get your new DS2019 form? How long did it take to get the new one. Please give me the time line. Also, how did you know that the ECFMG approved your application and sent it to DOS. I could not get any information from ECFMG.

J-1 research to clinical

:confused: hi i did'nt know there were different J-1 for research and clinical.so until u get the waiver for j-1 u cannot accept residency? kindly enlighten me guys.
