From H1B to asylum

Hi Everyone!

I am on an H1B visa since one year now. I went back home last month and I was persecuted because of some politic activities that I started when I was in my country. I am thinking about applying for asylum. I wanted to know if the application for Asylum will have an impact on my H1B in case the asylum is rejected? i.e. If I don't get the asylum can I still continue using my H1B visa? did anyone know such a case? any input is welcome.

if your application for asylum status failed, you will remain on your h1b status untill it's expired.

I was on H1b and asylum at at the same time.
My asylum was initally rejected and I continued with my H -1b for about 3 yrs and even extended it to 6yrs. By the time my asylum appeal was granted my H -b had only 8 more months left
Now I hold only the asylee status and waiting for my GC

Thank you again for your previous response. Can you please tell me when your asylum case was first rejected, I mean in which year? I heard that the law has changed and that since now everything is in only one system, the failure of my asylum case may affect my H1B status!
Any other help would be appreciated.
