From F1 visa to PR. What happens with college?

Hello,

I was F1 visa student and I just got my green card. I am in my last semester, so I was planning to graduate this June. Do I have to drop school since I became a permanent resident? Because I started this semester as International Student (F1).
Or do the international office just can transfer my file to the regular students office?
Do they have any way of checking that I am actually a PR? My I-20 is expiring on June 2017.
Because if they are going to make me drop the classes, I'd rather don't tell them, then graduate of school as international student, and that is it.

Why do you think they would expect your to drop classes? Of course not.

LPRs can take any courses, but international students often pay higher fees for the same classes.

That was my original reasoning. It has no sense at all! I am an honors student who always pays on time and I just got the good luck of getting the GC.
However, yesterday talking with a friend, who was working at my university's international office, told me that they had a similar case before (but she got the green card by marriage) and they couldn't transfer her file. That the process is dropping the classes as F1 and re-enroll as LPR. The problem with that is that the enrollment period is already over. (And also that I would lose a lot of money that I already paid in higher fees)

Update the uni registrar about your visa status as soon as the current semester ends.. but prior to the next enrollment period.

You need to inform your International Students Office about your AOS as soon as possible. They have to terminate your SEVIS because you're no longer D/S or on a visa. Make sure to take your GC and social security card. After you're done with ISO, go to the admission office, and let them know about your new status. They will change your status from Out of Country to Out of State for a year, which may reduce your tuition. After your 1-year anniversary on GC, you can get the in-state tuition.
