Friend Illegal for 6 years

Hi

My friend from the United Kingdom has been living and working in the US for the last 6 years illegally. He went on Holiday and never came back home.

He now has a house and a life etc, but the problem is he is illegal.

He has never been in trouble and although he is illegal he has a job (cash in hand). Can he apply for citizenship or does he need to stay the rest of his life or until hes caught as an alien ??

Please can you advise ???

I have several illegal friends too ...

some of them even stayed like more than 10 years already and they said they will seek amnesty ? I dunno what the hell is that but yeah, their life so far is so good. surprisingly they can get ssn and they work legally and even pay tax. I know for sure some of them work in a big company like starbucks. 'n yes they are using their own ssn with their own name on it, but their ssn usually has this sentences on top saying "valid only with working permit blablabla" ... , I guess some of the store / company are not really strict?
